Thanks for taking the time to visit this page and hopefully considering supporting our efforts to raise money to help fund Operation Smile UK in their continued effort to provide surgical solutions to those children that need it.
Some of you may not be too familiar with Operation Smile UK so we’ve provided a very short overview of the good work these folks have done and continue to do in the developing world.
Operation Smile UK have since 1982 provided hundreds of thousands of safe surgeries for those born with cleft lip and cleft palates where it’s needed most, third world countries with undeveloped medical sectors. As a not for profit volunteer based organisation I’m trying to my bit to help raise a small amount of money to help fund surgeries and support for those unfortunate kids born with this condition.
In the third world the syndrome can often be life threatening. Operation Smile aims at empowering local health professionals through training and education creating surgical solutions that last. They do this by partnering with ministries of health, academic institutions, corporations, local health professionals and other organisations.
Their goal is to change lives and revolutionise how entire health systems deliver surgical care where they work. For all too many children born with a cleft lip or cleft palate in the developing world, the harsh reality of social isolation and physical pain is a part of their daily lives. If these children do not receive timely surgery, the effects can be enormous, with many unable to eat or speak properly, and unable to attend school or play an active role in their community due to the stigma associated to their conditions.
In an effort to raise money we’ll be undertaking one challenge a year to try and raise some money to help.

Impact Hero – Grow My Tree
Grow my tree and Beacon Search firmly believe that we can all make a big contribution in our everyday life to live sustainably through little actions such as: eating less meat and more regional vegetables, traveling by train instead of taking the plane, leaving the car behind and cycling, consuming more consciously and less – and of course: planting trees!
From September 1st 2023 we will plant a tree for each successfully placed candidate, this should neutralize approx. 10% of our annual CO2 emissions. GROW MY TREE encourages organisations to do a lot of good, in an affordable and simple manner.
